We initially installed Kaspersky in April 2010 on three computers we have on a wireless network. We experienced the same problems using the program on three computers that other reviewers have noted. When we replaced one computer, it came with Macafee and decided not to bring it over to Kaspersky. As a result, the remaining two computers have run smoothly, and Kaspersky has stopped several virus attacks. However, due to the real inability to run this program simultaneously on three computers, I remove one star. The 2011 version here was an update; the update subscription only required that we enter the activation code. This took less than 5 minutes for each computer. The update adds a full 365 days on to the existing subscription; the 13 days we had remaining on the original subscription were retained along with the update.
Although Internet Explorer 9 prompts me about a so-called drag from Kaspersky, I do not believe that my surfing is noticeably slowed down. Generally speaking, I would not recommend this program for beginning computer/internet users; I do not find it as user friendly as it should be, and I have been using computers/internet since 1985, although Kaspersky does provide both help and support links. I am still trying to determine how some parts of the program work, but I have the system set to full protect, have not had any major incidents, and there are no conflicts to report between 64-bit Windows 7, IE 9, and Kaspersky. Kaspersky updates itself automatically and without interruption or drag to my use of the computer. The one thing that this program does not address that would be helpful is registry cleaning/defragging.
