The PowerDirector 13 video editor is a very fast and powerful tool for editing video on a PC. While it was very easy to install and start working on creating a video, it became apparent immediately that the program can do a lot, but it is not obvious how to do basic things that a novice film maker would want to do. The package comes with 2 disks but no printed documentation.

I am a relatively novice film maker who starting out using iMovie on my various Apple devices, iPhone, iPad and MacBook. While iMovie may not the most feature rich tool available, it is much easier to learn and complete basic movies quickly. That being said, I am sure that you can do a lot more and work with much more sophisticated devices using PowerDirector than iMovie.

If you need a powerful video editing tool for the PC then this may be the product for you. If you are a casual or novice film maker there may be easier, cheaper tools for your needs.
