I have a relatively complex Federal tax situation with some investments and a subchapter S and a partnership, which means that I can’t do the simplest tax returns, but I have been doing my own taxes for so long that all I really need is an assist and a heads up for any tax changes (rarely). I also have to file tax returns in two states which means that I just go the state web sites and download the forms. Everytime I have tried to use paid State tax forms it hasn’t worked out well. So I definitely don’t want to pay for something I cannot use. I also like the option to download the program. Makes me feel like I’m saving on all the worthless ads and bits of paper that used to be included in the package when I bought it at an office supply store.
