Quicken WillMaker Plus 2012 was easy to use right from the start. It installed without a problem on my Windows 7 computer and took us through the steps of putting together a simple will. If you’ve ever used tax software, you’ll be reminded of it as you go through the steps in this program. It takes a job that can seem overwhelming at first and walks you through the steps in an easy to understand manner. And it has all the forms that you’ll need. There’s even an introductory video to get you started and make the process less daunting. It included Health Care Directive, a living will and power of attorney, durable power of attorney for finances, final arrangement instructions, and information for your survivors and caregivers.
Our will was fairly simple and easy to do. I imagine if you had a lot of complicated investments and such that you might need to upgrade to a more powerful program, or to consult with an attorney, but for our purposes this software probably saved in the neighborhood of $1000 as opposed to having an attorney handle it.
I think this is a great way to produce a will or if your situation is very complicated, at least a good way to start.
