Cyberlink PhotoDirector 5 Ultra is a rather limited photo editing and retouching application compared to something like Photoshop CS or Photoshop Elements, but it does a VERY good job at simplifying several rather complex editing tasks … making it possible for amateurs to do very difficult retouching.

For starters, many people would like to quickly remove blemishes or make themselves look thinner in photos, and PhotoDirector 5 makes it so easy to do those things I’m actually surprised they’re so difficult to do well in Photoshop.

The content-aware object removal tools make it easy to remove distracting objects from the backgrounds in photos, but like Photoshop and Photoshop Elements you have to be careful since the software can get confused by complex backgrounds.

In short, if you just want to quickly edit your family photos and don’t want to learn more complex photo editing techniques then PhotoDirector 5 Ultra is probably the right software for you.
