This product is essentially a licenses for 5 computers, which is ostensibly to protect your traffic when connecting to the web over public networks. For example, if you use cafe or hotel connections which aren’t secured (most aren’t).
WiFi connections are like radio signals, and if you don’t encrypt your traffic, people can see what you’re transmitting.
This essentially sets up a private connection between Norton’s server and your computer. The traffic is encrypted, so anybody snooping on the WiFi shouldn’t be able to see what’s going on.
I tried this at a hotel recently and it worked fine. It was also quite easy to install.
